Community use of the library

Texas A&M University at Qatar is committed to working with the community, and extends limited services to visitors.

Print Resources

Print materials, such as books or journals, can be perused in the library.  Check out to community borrowers is available by showing a current identification card, such as driver’s license or student identification.  There is an application form to fill out and sign containing

A maximum of five (5) books for a two (2) week period will be checked out to a community user who verifies their personal information with an identification card, such as National ID, or Driver’s license.  Borrowers are encouraged to provide a business card as additional information.

Materials held at the libraries on the main campus are not available for community borrowers.

Electonic Resources

Texas A&M University complies with licensing restrictions.  The TAMU-Qatar Library staff will create a guest login account, usable for two weeks, for anyone who comes into the library facility.  Additional guest accounts may be requested when needed for continued use.

The account permits a network login to the computers in the library.  These computers are configured for access to the portfolio of electronic resources licensed for use from TAMU-Qatar. 

 
All users are required to adhere to copyright which allows reproductions for non-commercial education ‘fair use’ only.

Due to the high demand, the audiovisual collection is limited to TAMUQ faculty, staff and students only.
