Study Commons

The Study Commons encircles the Library proper. It is open from 6 a.m. until midnight - i.e. longer than normal library hours. There is seating for around 50 people and power outlets for charging laptops. The Study Commons is intended as a silent study area. Those wishing to study in groups should relocate to another part of the building that is more suited for the purpose.

Noise

Noise can be a problem in the Library at times. Should groups be excessively noisey it is expected that students are self-policing. If you have asked someone to be quiet and they are not it may be a violation of the Student Conduct Code (Section 24.3.12 on Disruptive Activity). In such cases you can file a Campus Community Incident Report (PDF). If you would like help with this process please ask Library staff for thei assistance.
